Toyota Announces Results for September 2016, April - September 2016

Toyota City, Japan, Oct 27, 2016 - (JCN Newswire) - Toyota Motor Corporation announces its production, domestic sales, and export results, including those for subsidiaries Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd., and Hino Motors, Ltd., for September 2016, and for April to September 2016.

Production in Japan

Toyota
- Second consecutive month of increase

Daihatsu
- Fifth consecutive month of increase

Hino
- Second consecutive month of increase

Toyota + Daihatsu + Hino
- Fifth consecutive month of increase

Sales in Japan

Toyota
- Seventh consecutive month of increase
- Lexus vehicle sales totaled 4,332 units (4.5 percent decrease)
- Minivehicle sales totaled 2,998 units (35.2 percent increase)
- 45.9 percent share of market excluding minivehicles (2.6 percentage point increase)
- 31.1 percent share of market including minivehicles (3.0 percentage point increase)

Daihatsu
- First decrease in three months
- Minivehicle sales totaled approximately 49,900 units (8.0 percent decrease); first decrease in three months
- 31.2 percent share of minivehicle market (0.01 percentage point increase)

Hino
- First decrease in six months
- Standard truck sales totaled approximately 3,800 units (5.6 percent decrease); first decrease in six months
- 33.2 percent share of the truck(1) market (3.2 percentage point decrease)

Toyota + Daihatsu + Hino
- Sixth consecutive month of increase
- 43.2 percent share of market including minivehicles (2.3 percentage point increase)

Exports

Toyota
- First decrease in three months; due to decreased exports to North America and the
Middle East

Daihatsu
- Decreased; due to decreased exports to Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East

Hino
- First increase in twenty months; due to increased exports to North America, Latin America, Europe, Oceania, and Africa

- First decrease in three months

Production Outside of Japan

Toyota
- First decrease in two months; due to decreased production in Latin America, Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, and other regions

Daihatsu
- Fifth consecutive month of increase; due to increased production in Indonesia

Hino
- Sixth consecutive month of increase; due to increased production in Asia

Toyota + Daihatsu + Hino
- First decrease in two months
