TOKYO, Feb 27, 2017 - (JCN Newswire) - Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today announced a summary of automobile production, Japan domestic sales, and export results for the month of January 2017.

Production in Japan for the month of January 2017 experienced a year-on-year increase for the third consecutive month (since November 2016).

Production in regions outside of Japan experienced a year-on-year increase for the sixth consecutive month (since August 2016), setting record high production for the month of January. This includes record high production for the month of January in Asia and China.

Production worldwide experienced a year-on-year increase for the sixth consecutive month (since August 2016), also setting record high production for the month of January.

Total domestic automobile sales in the Japanese market for the month of January 2017 experienced a year-on-year increase for the fifth consecutive month (since September 2016)

New vehicle registrations experienced a year-on-year increase for the fifth consecutive month (since September 2016)

Sales of mini-vehicles experienced a year-on-year increase for the fourth consecutive month (since October 2016)

FREED was the industry's sixth best-selling car among new vehicle registrations for the month of January 2017 with sales of 9,029 units.

Mini-vehicles - under 660cc
N-BOX was the industry's best-selling car in the mini-vehicle category for the month of January 2017 with sales of 17,641 units. N-WGN was the industry's seventh best-selling car with sales of 6,808 units.
