Leading Global Public Affairs and Financial and Corporate Communications Consultancy Recognized with Award for Best Practice

TOKYO, Nov 08, 2011 - (ACN Newswire) - Kreab Gavin Anderson has won the Asia-Pacific Public Affairs/Government Relations SABRE Award in recognition of best practice for its "Together with Japan" campaign for Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) in Japan.

The campaign was developed and managed across the Firm's Tokyo and Sydney offices in close coordination with MLA. Japan-based Kreab Gavin Anderson Partner - Public Affairs Jonathan Kushner was presented with the Award at the Asia-Pacific SABRE Awards dinner at Singapore's Ritz-Carlton Hotel on Thursday, November 3.

In addition, the campaign was short listed as one of only five for the Platinum Award for the region, which is for the top campaign overall in any category (with more than 550 eligible submissions this year), as well as for the worldwide Public Affairs/Government Relations SABRE Award.

Kreab Gavin Anderson Managing Partner Japan Deborah Hayden said, "It is extremely rewarding to be able to help local communities, while at the same time support the achievement of a client's business goals. I would particularly like to thank MLA for its tremendous dedication to this campaign and to Japan - this commitment, strategic thinking and teamwork has brought about well-deserved recognition."

The SABRE Awards represent the Gold Standard for strategic marketing communications worldwide. With a twenty year heritage in North America, they are arguably the most sought-after recognition in the marketing communications industry. The Awards are hosted by The Holmes Report - the primary industry media.

About "Together with Japan"

Sunshine, ocean and blue sky - and VIP heifers marching down the red carpet on Sydney Harbor.... This was the scene at the launch of "Together with Japan." Focused on supporting the relief effort and building partnerships with Japan's beef industry, while introducing new and innovative production techniques to the sector, the initiative produced an outpouring of support from both Australia and Japan.

"Together with Japan" has brought cattle producers and agricultural students from some of the worst-hit areas in Japan's Tohoku region to Australia, where they met senior government officials and their counterparts from the Australian cattle industry to exchange experience and expertise with regards to farming techniques and approaches to disaster management.

The campaign has also raised more than AUD $250,000 in financial support for the affected region, provided relief meals to various evacuation centres and delivered containers of hay feed to Tohoku cattle producers.
