FAA Issues Recertification of NASTAR Center STS-400 and Altitude Chamber

Southampton, PA, USA, Aug 28, 2015 - (ACN Newswire) - The NASTAR(R) Center (www.nastarcenter.com), a premier aviation training and research center and a business unit of Environmental Tectonics Corporation (OTC Pink: ETCC) ("ETC") (www.etcusa.com), announced today the recertification of its STS-400 Space Training System and 12/4 Altitude Chamber Training System by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The STS-400 is a high performance human centrifuge used to train and condition suborbital space flight participants for the rigors of suborbital space flight. The 12/4 Altitude Chamber is used to demonstrate the effects of high altitude flight for hypoxia, rapid decompression, and other effects of high altitude exposure to air and space pilots, crew, and passengers. Both systems demonstrated compliance with a variety of inspections and observations made by the FAA on August 11, 2015 that were aimed at ensuring that continued operational and safety obligations, as outlined by SA 10-001 (Rev 1) and SA 12-004, were being met.

The STS-400 and 12/4 Altitude Chamber were manufactured by ETC and have been operational at the NASTAR Center since its inception in 2007. The NASTAR Center offers a variety of aerospace programs for training and research including G Training, Suborbital Space Flight, Upset Prevention and Recovery, and hypoxia and rapid decompression training.

Richard A. Leland, President of the NASTAR Center, stated, "We are grateful for the support of the FAA and pleased that our systems are safe and in optimal working condition. We look forward to continuing and expanding the programs offered at the NASTAR Center."
