PSB Academy inks partnership for sports science students to win smart with data analytics

New partnerships, programmes and promotions are key features at this year's Open House at PSB's new S$15 million City Campus on 20 January.

SINGAPORE, Jan 19, 2018 - (Media OutReach) - PSB Academy (PSB) will ink an exclusive partnership with VX Sport to offer students from its sports science programmes the use of VX Sport software, and train them to harness data analytics for sports coaching and athlete performance management.

The 3-year agreement will also see both PSB and VX Sport collaborate on securing opportunities for PSB's sports science students, to gain internship and professional industry attachments with Singapore's national sporting teams.

"The skills I learn from these advanced monitoring tools under the Sports Science programme, can empower me to become a more discerning athlete, and also open up real opportunities for me to become a professional sports consultant in the field," says Fazrul Nawaz, a striker for the S.League club Tampines Rovers FC, who just enrolled in PSB's sports science diploma programme.

"I'm looking forward to acquiring a deeper, more analytical set of skills with the new and improved sports science programme at PSB Academy, and am confident it's a good step toward achieving my ambition to become a coach to young ones, to help them find their passion and be successful in sports," said Muhammad Nur Alfian Juma'en, a SEA Games Gold medallist with the national solar team and new student with PSB' sports science programme.

The Open House - PSB's first for the year - will showcase the Academy's comprehensive slate of over 80 academic and skills-based certificate to degree programmes, from its five schools, namely the School of Business and Management, Engineering and Technology, Life and Physical Sciences, Foundation Studies and the School of Postgraduate Studies.

Interested students and parents are welcome to join a complimentary line-up of workshops, activities and consultation sessions with PSB's schools and industry partners from 11am to 6pm.
