Li Xiaolin, China Power, Speech for the Centennial Celebration of Tsinghua University

HONG KONG, Apr 27, 2011 - (ACN Newswire) - As an alumna from Tsinghua University, Chairwomen of the board of China Power International Holding Limited, China Power International Development Limited and China Power New Energy Development Company Limited, Ms. Li Xiaolin was invited and attended the centennial celebration of Tsinghua University on April 22, where she gave a speech titled "On the Road of Ethics, Self-reliance and Righteousness" to the university's Electromechanical Department. Ms. Li reported to her alma mater her career performance over the past two decades after her graduation and exchanged opinions with professors and schoolfellows.

The speech started on 7:30 p.m. Chen Xu, the vice executive secretary of the party committee of Tsinghua University, Han Yingduo, an academician and the former dean of Electromechanical Department, Gao Xuan, the party secretary of the library and Min Yong, the current dean of Electromechanical Department attended the ceremony. Chen Xu presented a welcome speech, calling on students to learn from Li Xiaolin, to embed the value of individual in the enduring process of Chinese civilization and take it as the fundamental of national prosperity.

Ms. Li presented her calligraphic works to Electromechanical Department as a gift, which reads "quiet water runs deep, enhance morality for benevolence, broaden knowledge in the quest of truth, be diligent and cautious", as well as 100 copies of each of her works titled Quiet Water Runs Deep and Speeches of Xiaolin, to the library of Tsinghua University. Ms. Li also presented the collection edition of Journey of the Heart to her mentor Han Yingduo, as a token of gratitude to Tsinghua and her mentors. Library of Tsinghua University decided to add the books signed by Ms. Li to its literature collection.

Ms Li's speech comprise four parts: Tsinghua, the cradle of dreams; insist in faith, enhance ethics; inherit the spirit, honour one's duty; and emerald waters and azure sky, recognize one's value, thus reporting to professors and students of Tsinghua her experience in the enrichment of morality, career advancement, study, practice as well as the pursuit of excellence guided by Tsinghua's motto "Self Discipline, Social Commitment".
