Former Oracle vice president joins Avnet to lead China business

China, Apr 06, 2016 - (ACN Newswire) - Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), a leading global technology distributor, today announced that it has appointed Rodger Soo as vice president and general manager, Avnet Technology Solutions, China. In this role, Soo holds responsibility for the strategic direction, expansion of emerging channels and long-term profitable growth for the local business. In addition, he also holds the position of chief legal representative for Avnet Technology Solutions, China. Soo's appointment came into effect on 15th March, 2016, and he reports directly to William Chu, president, Avnet Technology Solutions, Asia Pacific, succeeding George Ng.

With more than 18 years of experience in various marketing and business leadership positions within the Asia Pacific IT industry, Soo brings with him extensive knowledge and a unique perspective. Prior to joining Avnet, Soo held leadership positions with several industry-leading IT organizations across Asia Pacific and Japan, including Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, SUN Microsystems and Oracle.
