BYDとトヨタ、電気自動車の共同開発に合意し、車両と搭載用電池の開発について検討を開始

豊田, 2019年07月19日 - (JCN Newswire) - 比亜迪股※有限公司（以下、BYD）とトヨタ自動車株式会社（以下、トヨタ）は、電気自動車（EV）の共同開発契約を締結し、今後、2020年代前半にトヨタブランドでの中国市場導入を目指して、セダンおよび低床SUVタイプのEVの開発とその車両などに搭載する電池の開発を進めていきます。

BYDは、1995年に電池事業で創業し、現在は電動車だけでなく大型蓄電池を含めたトータルエネルギーソリューションを提供する会社です。社名のBYDは「Build Your Dreams」の頭文字であり、電動車用主要部品（電池、モーター、パワーエレクトロニクスなど）はコア部品として自社開発しています。2008年には世界で初めてプラグインハイブリッド車（PHV）の販売を開始し、2015年以降は、EVとPHVを合わせた販売実績が4年連続世界トップです。

トヨタは、1997年に世界初となる量産ハイブリッド車を発売して以降、電動車開発のパイオニアとして電動車の開発・生産・販売に関する豊富な技術と経験を有しています。

両社は、地球温暖化の抑制に向けてCO2排出量削減を進めるために、EVのさらなる普及を目指して、競合関係の枠を超えて連携を図っていくことが必要であると考え、今回のEV共同開発の合意に至りました。

今後、BYDとトヨタは、これまでの市場導入を通じて培ってきた電動車や電池開発の技術を持ち寄り、魅力あるEVの開発とさらなる普及に取り組んでいきます。
