NEC、温室効果ガスの削減目標を「1.5度水準」に引き上げ、国際イニシアチブ「RE100」に加盟
東京, 2021年06月11日 - (JCN Newswire) - NECは、2017年に「2050年に向けた気候変動対策指針」(注1)を発表し、自社の事業活動からの温室効果ガスの排出量を2050年までに実質ゼロにすることを目指しています。
このたび、気候変動対策を更に加速するために、2030年度までの温室効果ガス削減目標を従来の2017年度比33%減から同年度比55%減に引き上げました。これにより、SBTイニシアチブ(注2)から2018年に取得したSBT(注3)「Well-Below 2度水準」を更新し、新たに本目標が「1.5度水準」と認定されました。なお、本目標は「2025中期経営計画」におけるESG視点の経営優先テーマ「マテリアリティ」と位置づけています。
また、このたびの温室効果ガス削減目標の引き上げに伴い、事業で使用する電力を100%再生可能エネルギーとすることを目指す国際イニシアチブ「RE100」(注4)および持続可能な脱炭素社会の実現を目指す企業グループ「日本気候リーダーズ・パートナーシップ(JCLP)」に加盟しました。NECは国内外の拠点で消費する電力を2050年までに100%再生可能エネルギーとすることを目指します。
