Honda、EV用バッテリー研究開発会社SESと共同開発契約を締結

東京, 2022年01月19日 - (JCN Newswire) - Hondaは、EV用バッテリー研究開発会社であるSES Holdings Pte. Ltd.（本社：米国ボストン、以下、SES）と、2021年12月にリチウム金属二次電池※1に関する共同開発契約を締結しました。

またSESは、SPAC（特別買収目的会社）スキームによるニューヨーク証券取引所（以下、NYSE）への株式上場を予定しており、Hondaは、SPACの私募増資引き受け（PIPE）を通じて、NYSEに上場するSES AI Corporationの約２％の株式を取得する予定※２ ※3です。

Hondaはグローバルでの電動化に向けた取り組みを加速する中で、EVの基幹部品であるバッテリーについては、独自に開発している全固体電池を含めて、次世代バッテリーとしていくつかの選択肢を並行して検討しており、今回の共同開発契約はその一環です。

今後、HondaとSESは、安全で高い耐久性をもつ大容量のEV用次世代バッテリーの実現に向けて、共同研究を進めていきます。
