ソニー、Epic Games, Inc.への追加の戦略的出資に関する確定契約締結のお知らせ

東京, 2022年04月12日 - (JCN Newswire) - 2020 年７月 10 日付及び 2021 年４月 14 日付でお知らせした Epic Games, Inc.（以下「Epic」）への戦略的出資に関して、このたび、当社は、当社の完全子会社である Sony Corporation of America を通じて、Epic への約 10 億米ドル（約 1,250 億円*）の追加の戦略的出資（以下「本追加出資」）を行うための確定契約を締結しましたので、お知らせします。なお、本追加出資の完了は、関係当局の承認及び許可の取得等を条件としています。

当社は、本追加出資を通じて、両社の協業領域をさらに拡大・深化させ、エンタテインメント領域を中心に新たな価値創造につながる機会の探索をより一層推進していきます。

なお、本追加出資が当社の 2022 年度連結業績に与える影響は軽微です。
