M+W Group Acquires Engineering Company Specialized in the Power Plant Sector
Acquisition of Reliable Plant Solutions (RPS) GmbH
Stuttgart, Germany, May 15, 2012 - (ACN Newswire) - The international engineering and construction company M+W Group, Stuttgart (Germany), has signed a contract to acquire Reliable Plant Solutions (RPS) GmbH based in Schkeuditz near Leipzig (Germany). Through the acquisition, M+W Group strengthens its Energy & Environment Technologies business segment. RPS designs and builds power plants fired by both conventional and renewable fuels. The engineering company has more than sixty employees involved in power plant projects in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. In addition to design and construction, the company's services include component procurement and commissioning of power plants. The purchase price has not been disclosed. The transaction is subject to approval by Germany's Federal Cartel Office.
"This acquisition will give us an opportunity to provide our customers with turnkey power plant know-how from a single source all over the world", M+W Group CEO Jrgen Wild commented on the signing of the contract. RPS managing partner Dr. Bernd Kulbe added: "The global M+W Group organisation will give us more access to international power plant projects as well as the special project management competences available within the Group in the field of large, complex projects." The two companies have already established a good track record of mutual collaboration in joint projects over the last two years.
The RPS acquisition will enable M+W Group to provide a complete range of expertise in the design and construction of power plants fired by renewables and fossil fuels.
