MTA2013 Opens to Much Fanfare
Biennial Trade Show to Feature Revolutionary Machine Technologies and Solutions

SINGAPORE, Apr 09, 2013 - (ACN Newswire) - 3-D printing, the latest revolutionary technology to hit the manufacturing industry and numerous Asia and worldwide machinery launches. These are just some of the cutting edge machine technologies and solutions visitors can look forward to at MTA2013.

The biennial four day trade event, held at the Singapore Expo's halls three and four from 9 - 12 April 2013, is one of the most anticipated events for the manufacturing industry in Asia. 500 exhibitors from 31 countries and regions will be showcasing latest precision engineering and machine tool technologies.

As the premier industry sourcing platform in the region, MTA is the perfect stage for companies to showcase their newest innovations, as well as for everyone to share knowledge and discuss industry trends. MTA2013 is also a great opportunity for like-minded professionals to meet, network, learn, form business partnerships and strike deals.

"The region's manufacturing landscape has changed. The industry has undergone a shift from low-value mass manufacturing to a greater emphasis on a high-mix output. MTA's exhibition line-up this year clearly reflects this trend, casting a bright spotlight on the high-value sectors of Aerospace, Medical and Oil & Gas. From machine tools makers, to distributors, contract manufacturers, and OEMs, we have brought everyone under one all-inclusive roof," comments Mr. Stephen Tan, Chief Executive of Singapore Exhibition Services (SES), organiser of MTA2013.

Presence of major market leaders

Major regional and international machinery, metrology and tooling brand names will be on showcase over the four days. Whether directly from the manufacturer or through local and regional distributors, visitors to MTA2013 will get to inspect the latest machines from big names such as ABB, Bruderer, Carl Zeiss, DMG Mori Seiki, Fanuc, Hankook, Hexagon Metrology, Hurco, Makino, Mitutoyo, Shenyang Machine Tool, Sodick, Studer, Takisawa, Tornos, Tsugami, Wenzel and YCM. MTA2013 also features eight international group pavilions, from Germany, Korea (three pavilions), Singapore (two pavilions), Taiwan and United Kingdom.

Impressive display of home-grown manufacturing competencies

This is most evident in the Capabilities Hub, which is a showcase of Singapore's ability to service these growing sectors. A joint initiative between event organiser SES and the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech), 26 precision engineering enterprises will demonstrate their aptitudes in the manufacture of high-quality, advanced solutions - all dedicated to meet the demanding and varied needs of Asia's Aerospace, Complex Equipment, Medical Technology and Oil & Gas sectors.

The show's success in supporting these high-value verticals is reflected mostly in the visitors it attracts. Market leaders from the vertical industries such as Baxter Healthcare, Cameron, Eaton Industries, FMC Technologies, GE Aviation and GE Oil & Gas, Hamilton Sundstrand Pacific Aerospace, Hewlett Packard, Rolls-Royce and Weatherford Technologies, are patrons of MTA and will be looking to MTA2013 as the place to source for new suppliers to upgrade their capabilities.

Thought-provoking conferences

MTA attracts top industry professionals from all over the region. Every two years, they converge at MTA not just to keep abreast with the latest technology in the global marketplace, but also to network, forge business partnerships, and listen to the many experts who share their knowledge at the event's many conferences.

MTA2013 has partnered organisations within the industry to present a comprehensive series of conferences featuring an impressive list of keynote speakers and experts, as well as thought-provoking topics for discussion.

With Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology placing higher demands on the design, manufacturing and testing of high-precision surfaces, the Optics and Photonics Society of Singapore (OPSS) has brought back The International Conference on Optics in Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology (icOPEN2013) for a second edition at MTA2013.

Jointly organised by SES and the SIMTech, the 5th edition of the PE COI (Precision Engineering Centre of Innovation) Annual Conference will provide an invaluable opportunity for SMEs in Singapore to explore business partnerships with leading manufacturers in the Aerospace, Complex Equipment Medical Technology and Oil & Gas, and sectors. This is especially timely with the rapid localisation of the manufacturing activities in this high growth region.

The Singapore Precision Engineering and Tooling Association (SPETA) has also arranged a seminar on how businesses can benefit from the latest enhancements to the Productivity and Innovation Credit and the Wage Credit Scheme recently announced by the Singapore Government.
