NEC、インテルと無線基地局の機能を汎用サーバで実現する「NFV C-RANソリューション」を開発

東京, 2016年08月16日 - (JCN Newswire) - NECは、Intel Corporation(本社:米国カリフォルニア州、CEO: Brian M. Krzanich、以下インテル)と共同で、従来、専用機で実現されていた無線基地局の機能を汎用サーバ上のソフトウェアで実現する「NFV C-RAN(Cloud-RAN)ソリューション」を開発しました。

本ソリューションは、NFV(注1)で実現された無線基地局のデータ処理を行う集約基地局(CU(Central Unit))と、電波の送受信を行うリモート局(DU(Distributed Unit))で構成されます。CUが複数のDUを集中制御することで、無線ネットワークの効率的な運用に貢献します。また従来CUが行っていた処理の一部をDUが行えるようにすることで、CUとDUでやりとりするデータを10分の1以下に削減可能です。このため、CUとDUを結ぶネットワークが小容量でも従来と同水準の通信性能を実現し、5Gに求められる高速大容量・超低遅延のネットワークを低コストで構築可能です。
