LNG燃料の供給・販売事業が本格始動

東京, 2017年06月14日 - (JCN Newswire) - 三菱商事株式会社（以下、当社）、ENGIE SA（以下、ENGIE）、日本郵船株式会社（以下、日本郵船）、FLUXYS SA（以下、FLUXYS）、が設立した合弁会社が保有する液化天然ガス（以下、LNG）燃料供給船「ENGIE ZEEBRUGGE」は、本年2月に韓進重工業の影島造船所（韓国・釜山）で竣工、4月にベルギーZeebrugge（ジーブルージュ）港へ入港し、同港のFLUXYS所有のターミナルにてLNG燃料を積込みました。その後、United European Car Carriers B.V.（以下、UECC）が運航する自動車専用船「AUTO ECO」「AUTO ENERGY」の荷役中にShip-to-Ship方式でLNG燃料を供給し、世界初のLNG燃料供給・販売事業が本格始動しました。

今後、同船はLNG燃料の普及を目指すGas4Sea（注）ブランドのもと、Zeebrugge港を拠点とし、北海・バルト海を航行する船舶へのLNG燃料を供給していきます。

国際的な船舶の排出ガス規制強化により環境負荷が少ないLNG燃料を使用する船舶数が増加する中、各地でLNGバンカリング拠点の整備が進められています。供給地点に柔軟性を持てる「ENGIE ZEEZBURGGE」の就航は、LNG燃料の普及拡大への大きな契機になると期待されます。

当社は、パートナーと共に、Ship-to-Ship方式によるLNG燃料供給・販売サービスを世界的に展開していきます。今後も持続可能な地球社会の実現のため、環境負荷の低減に貢献して参ります。
