Universal Medical's Tender for Construction Design of International Land Port Hospital Project Completes

Consortium of China IPPR and the World's Top Design Company Tengbom Wins the Bidding

HONG KONG, Jul 28, 2017 - (ACN Newswire) - Recently, the tender for construction work of International Land Port Hospital Project Phase I co-established by Universal Medical Financial & Technical Advisory Services Co., Ltd. ("Universal Medical" or the "Company"; Stock Code: 2666.HK) and Xi'an Jiaotong University First Affiliated Hospital has been completed. After comprehensive review, the consortium of China IPPR International Engineering Co., Ltd. and Tengbomgruppen AB, a hospital designer from Sweden (the "Consortium"), won the bidding.

It is reported that the bid evaluation committee consisted of 7 people, including one representative of Xi'an Jiaotong University First Affiliated Hospital, one representative of Universal Medical and 5 external experts. The bid evaluation committee checked and evaluated the business and technical documents of each bidder against the tender documents. The bidding was supervised by the project supervision panel throughout the whole course.

Top Participants to Co-establish an International High - tech Medical Center
International Land Port Hospital project marks the first cooperation of all time between a regional large-scale 3A hospital under NHFPC (National Health and Family Planning Commission of People's Republic of China) and a state-owned key enterprise, which is regarded as a benchmark in national healthcare system reform. The new hospital will be located at the starting point of China "Belt and Road" Strategy, which is one of the key areas clearly supported by Guanzhong - Tianshui Economic Zone Development Plan.

Top Hospital Designer Introduces New International Medical Standards
For the introduction of new international medical standards, Universal Medical and Xi'an Jiaotong University agreed to choose a "mixed-blood" consortium.

China IPPR International Engineering Co., Ltd. is a state-owned key enterprise established in 1953. It is among the first batch of comprehensive grade-A design units and top-100 designers in China. The company participated in the design project of the PLA General Hospital, Beijing Union Medical College Hospital and other large hospitals in China and accumulated abundant experience in cooperating with foreign companies.

The Swedish company Tengbom was established in 1906. It is the most advanced and international level architectural design group. Medical construction is Tengbom's most important and skilled area. Tengbom has presided over the design work of the Nobel Prize-giving Academy, Karolinska University Hospital (NKS) Affiliated Hospital, which received the European Healthcare Design Award at the recent European Healthcare Design Annual Conference.

The Consortium said they would focus on the analysis of the characteristics and value of the project, maximizing the construction value in the design process, reflecting the architectural features and bringing the most sophisticated medical buildings design concepts into the new hospital. At the same time, concepts regarding environment protection, sustainable development and construction economy optimization would also be taken into consideration.
