Honda、新型「N-BOX」の軽量化技術が第27回（2018年次）RJCテクノロジーオブザイヤーを受賞
東京, 2017年11月15日 - (JCN Newswire) - Hondaが新型「N-BOX（エヌボックス）」に採用した軽量化技術が、第27回（2018年次）RJCテクノロジーオブザイヤー（主催：特定非営利活動法人 自動車研究者ジャーナリスト会議）を受賞しました。
2017年9月1日に発売した新型N-BOXは、新設計のプラットフォームやパワートレインをはじめ約9割の構成部品を刷新し、安全装備を含む新たな装備を追加しながら、約80kgの軽量化を達成しました。最も軽量化に寄与したボディーには、高張力鋼板（ハイテン材）の適用を拡大。成形の難しさから、これまでは内部の補強部材として用いられてきた1180MPa級超高張力鋼板を世界で初めて※センターピラーのアウターパネルに採用しました。また、シーム溶接、高粘度接着材、ルーフレーザーブレーズといった新たな生産技術の導入で接合効率を向上させたほか、高効率フロアフレームを採用することで、優れた燃費性能や衝突安全性能、高剛性化に寄与しながら、軽快で安心感の高い走りをもたらす基本骨格を完成させました。
