ソフトバンクとHondaが第5世代移動通信システムを活用したコネクテッドカー技術の共同研究を開始
東京, 2017年11月16日 - (JCN Newswire) - ソフトバンク株式会社（本社：東京都港区、代表取締役社長 兼 CEO：宮内 謙、以下「ソフトバンク」）と、Hondaの研究開発子会社である株式会社本田技術研究所（本社：埼玉県和光市、代表取締役社長 社長執行役員：松本 宜之、以下「本田技術研究所」）は、第5世代移動通信システム（以下「5G」）の普及を想定し、自動車を中心としたモビリティーとさまざまなモノが“つながる”ことで、新たな体験や価値を提供するコネクテッドカー技術※の強化を目的とした共同研究の検討を開始しました。2018年度には、ソフトバンクが本田技術研究所の鷹栖プルービンググラウンド（北海道上川郡鷹栖町）に5Gの実験用基地局を設置し、5G環境下での共同研究を本格化する予定です。
【共同研究概要】
クローズドのテストコース（鷹栖プルービンググラウンド）を活用して5G環境を作り出し以下の技術開発を行います。
●高速ハンドオーバー技術
- 高速移動中の自動車で、通信する基地局を安定的に切り替える技術および車載アンテナの開発
●弱電界、圏外域でのリカバリー技術
- 弱電界におけるデータ送受信性能を確保する技術およびデータ処理技術の開発
●その他、さまざまなユースケースを想定した技術開発
