トヨタとスズキ、インド市場向けEV投入に関する覚書を締結

豊田, 2017年11月17日 - (JCN Newswire) - トヨタ自動車株式会社（以下、トヨタ）とスズキ株式会社（以下、スズキ）は、本年2月6日に、業務提携に向けた検討を開始する覚書を締結して以来、様々な協業の検討を行ってきた。その中の項目の一つとして、インド市場における電動化技術の普及についても協議を行ってきたが、この度、両社は2020年頃にインド市場向けに電気自動車（以下、EV）を投入するための協力関係構築に向け検討を進めることで合意した。

具体的には、インド市場向けにスズキが生産するEVに、トヨタが技術的支援を行い、その車両をトヨタへ供給することに加え、充電ステーションの整備や、販売網におけるサービス技術者の教育を含めた人材育成、使用済み電池の適切な処理体制の整備、インドにおけるEVの普及・定着に資するための活動について、総合的に検討を進めていく。

インドでは、モディ首相の指導力のもと、自動車のEV化を急速に推し進めようとしている。スズキは既にグジャラートの工場敷地内にリチウムイオン電池工場を建設することを決定しており、リチウムイオン電池を始めとして、モーターその他主要部品をインドにおいて調達し、インドにおいてEVを生産することにより、インド政府が掲げる「Make in India」をEVの分野においても実現する。
