三菱重工、船舶事業を再編し、三菱造船と三菱重工海洋鉄構の2社を設立
高密度艤装船や環境対策、新燃料対応などに注力
東京, 2017年12月01日 - (JCN Newswire) - 三菱重工業は、平成29年11月2日、船舶事業の再編により平成30年1月1日付で艤装主体船の建造等を営む造船新会社と、大型船建造、海洋鉄構構造物等の製造を主体とする会社の2社を設立することを公表しましたが、今般、両社の社名が決定しましたのでお知らせいたします。
造船新会社の社名は、「三菱造船株式会社」（Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co.,Ltd.）です。今回の再編では、下関・長崎等の造船拠点の総力を結集し、造船専業の事業会社を設立することから、この歴史と伝統のある「三菱造船」という名前を冠称させることにしたものです。得意とするエンジニアリング力を活かしてフェリー、官公庁船などの高密度艤装船を伸ばすとともに、環境対策の分野でも社会に貢献し、持続的な発展を目指します。
もう一方の新会社の社名は、「三菱重工海洋鉄構株式会社」（Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Marine Structure Co.,Ltd.）です。長崎造船所香焼工場のリソース（設備・人）と技術を活かし、大型船を引き続き建造するとともに、新燃料対応ユニットや海洋鉄構構造物等にも取り組んでいきます。
当社は、これら2社と緊密に連携しながら、その事業展開を全面的に支援していきます。
