TOYOTA GAZOO Racing、2018ニュルブルクリンク24時間耐久レースに、LEXUS LCで参戦

東京オートサロン2018に、参戦車両を展示、参戦体制も発表

豊田, 2018年01月12日 - (JCN Newswire) - TOYOTA GAZOO Racingは2018年5月12日（土）～13日（日）にドイツで開催される第46回ニュルブルクリンク24時間耐久レース（正式名称ADAC Zurich 24h-Rennen、以下ニュル24時間レース）に、LEXUS LCで参戦することを発表しました。

ニュル24時間レースは、世界一過酷なコースと言われるドイツ中部のニュルブルクリンクで毎年開催され、第46回となる2018年は、5月12日（土）～13日（日）に決勝レースが行われます。ニュル24時間レースへの参戦は、TOYOTA GAZOO Racingの目指す「もっといいクルマづくり」の活動の原点として、2007年よりトヨタ社員自らが製作したレース車両で、社員メカニック、エンジニアで構成するチームで参戦を続けており、今年で12年目となります。

2018年は新規車両となるLEXUS LC1台での参戦。トヨタ社員のメカニック、エンジニアの手でレースカーに仕立て、将来のスポーツカーなどの市販車に活かすための技術を先行投入し※、「人を鍛え、クルマを鍛える」活動の実践を通じ、「もっといいクルマづくり」を追求します。

ドライバーは、土屋武士選手をリーダーに、若手の松井孝允選手、蒲生尚弥選手、中山雄一選手の4名を起用。もっといいクルマづくりとともに、若手ドライバーを鍛え、チーム一丸となってニュル24時間レースの完走を目指します。
