九州大学と富士通、AIを活用した農業生産の共同研究を開始

独自の植物機構モデルを活用し、生産の高度化と安定性向上を支援

東京, 2018年04月12日 - (JCN Newswire) - 国立大学法人九州大学（総長：久保千春、所在地：福岡県福岡市、以下九州大学）と富士通株式会社（代表取締役社長：田中達也、本社：東京都港区、以下富士通）は、AI（人工知能）を活用した、農業生産の高度化と安定性向上を目指し、2018年4月より2年間、農業分野における共同研究を実施します。

本共同研究では、九州大学の生体計測技術で計測された草丈や葉面積などの植物の生育状況と、植物理論に時空間変動情報（注1）を取り入れた独自の植物機構モデルを、富士通が今回開発するAIエンジンに組み込み、成長速度や収穫時期などをリアルタイムに予測します。また、それらの予測に基づき、生産現場における植物の生育を制御することで、需要にあわせた効率的な植物栽培を実現しうる仕組みを研究開発します。

共同研究の成果は、富士通の農事業グループ会社の生産現場での活用を推進し、効果検証を行うとともに、農業向けソリューションとしての提供を目指します。九州大学においては、スマート農業教育を実施し、成果の普及ならびに人材の育成を推進します。
