三菱商事、豪州クイーンズランド州BMA原料炭事業グレゴリー・クライナム炭鉱の売却について

東京, 2018年05月30日 - (JCN Newswire) - 三菱商事株式会社（本社：東京都千代田区、以下、当社）は、100％子会社の三菱デベロップメント社（Mitsubishi Development Pty Ltd、本社：豪州ブリスベン）が50％の権益を保有するBMAのグレゴリー・クライナム炭鉱(現在操業停止中)を双日株式会社(本社：東京都千代田区、以下、双日)に売却することで合意しました。

残りの権益を保有するBHP社(本社：豪州メルボルン)も共同で売却します。両社を合わせた売却価格は1億豪ドル(約82億円)となります。今後、豪州政府からの承認取得などを経て売却完了となります。

当社は、2016年5月に発表した「中期経営戦略2018」において、市況系の投融資残高を一定に保ちながら、積極的に資産を入替え、ポートフォリオの質の向上を図っていくことを経営方針のひとつに掲げております。今回の売却はその一環として実行したものです。

資産の入替えに加え、コスト削減や生産性向上の為の経営努力を継続していくことで、保有資産の更なる競争力強化を推進して参ります。

尚、本件による収益インパクトについては、2018年度通期業績見通しに織り込んでおります。
