トヨタとJR東日本、水素活用による鉄道と自動車のモビリティ連携の検討を開始

地域と協調し、サスティナブルな低炭素社会の実現に貢献

豊田, 2018年09月27日 - (JCN Newswire) - トヨタ自動車株式会社（以下、トヨタ）と東日本旅客鉄道株式会社（以下、JR東日本）は、地球温暖化問題やエネルギーの多様化などに対応したサスティナブルな低炭素社会の実現に向け、水素を活用した鉄道と自動車のモビリティ連携を軸とした包括的な業務連携の基本合意を締結しました。

このほど合意に至った背景は、鉄道と自動車という陸上の代表的な交通機関が連携して、両社の経営資源を融合させ、水素を活用した取り組みを促進することにより、低炭素社会への動きを加速させることにあります。

トヨタは、自社開発した燃料電池（FC）技術による自動車（FCV）やバス（FCバス）の開発、水素供給インフラ（水素ステーション）整備の支援に関わる経験・ネットワーク、JR東日本は、鉄道事業や駅および駅周辺の開発に関わる技術・ノウハウ・経営資源を有しています。

これらを持ち寄り、JR東日本社有地を活用した水素ステーション整備、地域交通におけるFCV・FCバスの導入、鉄道車両へのFC技術の応用など、水素活用を軸として幅広い領域において具体的な検討を進めていきます。

さらに、両社の連携がより地域に根ざした取り組みとなるよう、自治体や企業・地域の皆さまなど多くのステークホルダーに協調を呼びかけ、地域の発展や魅力ある地域づくりに貢献する水素サプライチェーンの構築を目指していきます。
