ソニー、エンタテインメントロボット“aibo”（アイボ）が家族をみまもる「aiboのおまわりさん」の提供を開始

他企業との連携を推進するAPI※1の一般公開も開始

東京, 2019年01月23日 - (JCN Newswire) - ソニー株式会社は、自律型エンタテインメントロボット“aibo”（アイボ）の新しいサービス「aiboのおまわりさん」※2を、2019年2月中旬のaiboシステムソフトウェアバージョン2.0のアップデートから提供を開始します。※3

「aiboのおまわりさん」は、aiboと共に暮らす中で楽しさに加えて安心感を提供する「セキュリテインメント」（セキュリティ＋エンタテインメント）※4をコンセプトとした新しいサービスです。サービス提供開始時は、aiboが室内をパトロールし、レポートする機能を無償で提供し、その後も「aiboのおまわりさん」を継続的に機能拡張していきます。なお、2019年6月より開始する有料サービス「aiboプレミアムプラン」では、「aiboのおまわりさん」の新機能追加に加え、aiboの撮影した写真の保存枚数制限の解除やオリジナルデザインによるフォトアルバムの提供などを予定しています。

さらに、セコム株式会社（以下、セコム）とのパートナーシップを開始し、将来的な新機能・サービスの提供を目指します。

また、他の企業、団体等との商品・サービス連携を推進するために、aiboのソフトウェアAPIの一般公開を2019年夏より開始します。
