三菱重工サーマルシステムズが、家庭用エアコンで実証機を開発
R410AおよびR32に代わる低GWP冷媒R454Cを世界で初めて小型エアコンに採用へ
東京, 2019年04月18日 - (JCN Newswire) - 三菱重工グループの三菱重工サーマルシステムズ株式会社(社長:楠本 馨、本社:東京都港区)は、地球温暖化係数GWP(注1)が極めて低いR454Cを、世界で初めて1馬力級の小型エアコンに採用します。混合冷媒ゆえに熱交換性能に劣るなどの同冷媒が抱える課題を、熱交換器最適流量化技術などの対策により克服したもので、このほど、同冷媒を採用した家庭用エアコンの実証機を開発しました。環境規制の厳しい欧州市場での先行発売を視野に、量産準備を進めていきます。
R454C冷媒は、オゾン層破壊係数がゼロで、CO2の温暖化影響力を1とするGWPは146です。中小型空調機器用冷媒として現在広く使われているR410A(GWP:2090)およびR32(同675)と比べるとそれぞれ約1/14、1/5となっています。本実証機の冷媒による温暖化影響(注2)は、従来機(注3)に比べ91.3%の削減となります。
2016年10月にルワンダの首都キガリ(Kigali)で、オゾン層保護のためのウィーン条約・モントリオール議定書の対象物質として、オゾン層は破壊しないが地球温暖化には悪影響がある代替フロン(HFC)まで段階的に削減する改正(キガリ改正)が行われ、世界を挙げての気候変動防止に向けた取り組みが強化されています。さらに、環境意識の高い欧州連合(EU)諸国は、GWP150以上のHFCを含む地球温暖化物質の販売・使用規制範囲を、2015年以降順次広げています。R454C冷媒を世界で初めて採用した家庭用エアコンの開発は、こうした流れを前向きに受け止め先んじた成果として実現したものといえます。
三菱重工サーマルシステムズは、今後も低GWP冷媒を使った高性能製品の開発・販売に力を注ぎ、グローバル市場での地球環境保全に貢献していきます。
