長距離や高速移動中の安定的な無線通信サービスの展開に貢献

東京, 2019年05月28日 - (JCN Newswire) - ソニーは、IoT向けに独自開発した低消費電力広域（以下、LPWA：Low Power Wide Area）通信規格のELTRES(TM)（エルトレス）に対応した通信モジュール『CXM1501GR』を商品化します。本商品が組み込まれたIoT向け端末機器は、今秋サービス開始予定の「ELTRES IoTネットワークサービス」※1に接続することが可能となります。

幅広いIoT向け端末機器への採用を推進することで、長距離や高速移動中の安定的な無線通信の特長を活かした多様なサービスへの展開と、新しい市場の創造を図ってまいります。

多くのIoTシステムは、各種センサーから得られた情報を、無線通信でクラウドサーバーに転送し、クラウドでデータ蓄積、処理を行い、その結果をユーザーのスマートフォンやタブレットに表示する構成となっています。LPWAネットワーク技術は、伝送するデータ量が少なく、低消費電力かつ広域で利用可能な無線通信技術で、IoTシステムの通信用途として今後大きな需要が見込まれています。

本通信モジュール『CXM1501GR』は、ELTRESの通信規格のプロトコルに基づき、920MHz帯での電波を発信する新開発の変調LSI、および外付けアンテナとのインピーダンス整合を行う回路を内蔵しています。さらに、IoT向けに重要なセンサーの一つである時刻情報と位置情報を取得するGNSS受信LSI、およびGNSS受信に必要なSAWフィルタ等の高周波部品をすべて内蔵しています。そのため、本商品を採用することで、多種多様なIoT向けエッジデバイスを容易に設計できます。
