NEC、滋賀大学とデータサイエンス分野における人材育成に関する連携協定を締結

社会課題を解決できるAI人材の育成を加速

東京, 2019年07月24日 - (JCN Newswire) - NECは、国立大学法人滋賀大学(本部：滋賀県彦根市、学長：位田隆一(隆の字は、正しくは夂と生の間に一)、以下滋賀大学)とデータサイエンス分野における人材育成に関する連携協定を締結しました。これにより、社会課題を解決できるAI人材の育成を目指して連携・協力し、産学連携教育を推進していきます。

近年、AIの社会実装・活用が急速に進み経済がデジタル化する中、世界的にAI人材の不足が大きな社会課題となっています。日本でも、2019年6月に閣議決定された「統合イノベーション戦略2019」(注1)においてAI人材を年間25万人育成する戦略案が掲げられており、産学官共同でAI人材育成に取り組むことが求められています。

こうした中、NEC は、2019年4月に社会課題を解決できるAI人材を輩出するための「NEC アカデミー for AI」(注2)を開講し、"学び"と"実践"の場を通したAI人材の育成に取り組んでいます。また、滋賀大学は2016年に「データサイエンス教育研究センター」(注3)、2017年4月に日本初の「データサイエンス学部」(注4)、さらに2019年4月には日本初の「大学院データサイエンス研究科」(注5)を設置しました。これらは、ビッグデータを処理・分析し、そこから新たな価値を生みだすことのできるデータサイエンティストの育成を目的としています。

今回の連携協定はこれらの取り組みの一環であり、今後両者の豊富な知見や実績を活かすことで、プロフェッショナルなAI人材の育成を加速します。
