ソニー、海洋プラスチック汚染対策「One Blue Ocean Project」を開始

「環境負荷ゼロ」に向けて、プラスチックの使用量削減などの取り組みを推進

東京, 2019年08月02日 - (JCN Newswire) - ソニー株式会社（以下、ソニー）は、本日より、グローバルにプラスチックの使用量削減などの取り組みを推進する海洋プラスチック汚染対策「One Blue Ocean Project」を開始します。本プロジェクトでは、「環境負荷ゼロ」に向けて、プラスチック使用量削減とあわせて世界各地の河川や海岸、地域のごみの回収・清掃もこれまでより推進します。

近年、プラスチックの年間生産量が過去50年で約20倍※1に増大する一方、そのリサイクル量は約9％※2にとどまるなど、海洋プラスチック汚染問題が深刻化しています。これに伴いグローバルで海洋プラスチック汚染対策が活発化しており、例えば2019年6月に開催されたG20のエネルギー・環境相会合では、海洋プラスチックごみ削減に向けた国際的枠組みの創設などを盛り込んだ共同声明が採択されました。

ソニーは、「One Blue Ocean Project」を通じて、2010年に策定した長期環境計画「Road to Zero」で掲げた、2050年までの「環境負荷ゼロ」達成に向けた取り組みを加速します。また、海洋プラスチック汚染問題の解決に取り組むことで、SDGs（持続可能な開発目標）の「目標12. 持続可能な消費と生産のパターンを確保する」および「目標14. 海洋と海洋資源を持続可能な開発に向けて保全し、持続可能な形で利用する」への貢献を目指します。
