ソニー損保、グリーンボンドへの投資について

東京, 2019年09月13日 - (JCN Newswire) - ソニー損害保険株式会社（代表取締役社長：丹羽淳雄、本社：東京都大田区、以下「ソニー損保」）は、資産運用を通じた環境改善への貢献の取組みとして、2019年9月12日に発行された株式会社カネカのグリーンボンド（以下「本債券」）に投資しましたので、お知らせします。当社のグリーンボンドへの投資は今回が初めてとなります。

グリーンボンドとは、環境改善に資する投資案件（グリーンプロジェクト）の資金を調達するために発行される債券で、本債券発行による調達資金は、カネカ生分解性ポリマーPHBHの製造設備の工事費用および研究開発費用に充当される予定です。カネカ生分解性ポリマーPHBHは、植物油などのバイオマスを原料として微生物発酵プロセスによって生産されるポリマーで、土壌中や海水中での生分解性が優れていることから、近年社会問題となっているマイクロプラスチックによる海洋汚染問題の改善に資することが期待されています。

当社は、これまでも環境保全につながる活動に積極的に取組んでいますが、今後、ESG投資(*1)を通じ、資産運用面からも持続可能な社会の実現に貢献できるよう努めてまいります。
