昭和電工、化粧品原料1,3-BGの事業化を決定

東京, 2019年10月31日 - (JCN Newswire) - 昭和電工株式会社（社長：森川宏平）は、主に化粧品原料として使用される1,3-ブチレングリコール（以下、1,3-BG）の事業化を決定しました。大分コンビナート内に2019 年末までに製造設備を完成させ、2020年4月の販売開始を予定しております。

1,3-BG は、幅広い種類の化粧品に保湿成分として配合されており、アジアの化粧品需要増加に伴い、年10％の需要伸長が見込まれます*。当社は高品質な1,3-BG の事業化により、アジアを中心とする化粧品市場の成長を原料供給面から支えます。また当社は、1,3-BG に化粧品原料として求められる品質を独自技術により実現し、大分コンビナートにてエチレンから一貫生産いたします。

当社グループは、個性派企業（収益性と安定性を高レベルで維持できる個性派事業の連合体）の実現をVision（目指す姿）とし、2025 年には当社事業の半数以上を個性派事業とすることを目指しております。石油化学事業においても、市況に左右されず安定して高い収益を生み出すための事業体質づくりを進めてまいりました。今後も新規誘導品の事業化、アセチル系製品やコンビナート内外との事業連携強化などにより収益力を高め、東アジア地域で最高レベルの競争力を持つ石油化学事業とすることを目指してまいります。
