ソニー、インドに研究拠点を設立

東京, 2019年11月14日 - (JCN Newswire) - ソニーは、当社R&Dセンターの一つとして、インドに研究拠点を設立します。2020年にバンガロールに最初の拠点を設立し、その後、複数を開設する予定です。当社はインドにおいて、20年以上にわたりソフトウェア開発を進めてきており、今回の拠点設立は、インドの豊富な人材とともに、当社のインド市場における競争力と研究開発力を強化するものです。インド在住、あるいはインドに移住・帰郷したいと考えているIT関連技術の研究者がキャリアを築いていけるよう準備を進めています。

当社はこれまでも、世界中で様々な研究開発活動を展開してまいりました。今回インドで新たに研究拠点を設立し、さらに多様な研究活動を促進することで、「クリエイティビティとテクノロジーの力で、世界を感動で満たす」という当社のPurpose（存在意義）を追求するとともに、多様な技術系人材の育成も進めてまいります。

また、当社のR&D人材が意欲的に成長できる機会を今後も継続的に提供するため、インド国内の大学への研究支援を通じてオープンイノベーションを進めるとともに、教員や研究者との協力関係の構築にも取り組んでまいります。加えて、インドをはじめとする世界中のR&Dセンターにおけるキャリア形成の機会も用意します。

採用に関しては、AIの応用研究を行う人材（アプライドAIを専門とする人材）を中心に行う予定です。
