昭和電工、中国盛虹煉化社（連雲港）向けに酢酸ビニルモノマーの製造技術ライセンスを供与

東京, 2019年11月19日 - (JCN Newswire) - 昭和電工株式会社（社長：森川宏平）は、米国のエンジニアリング会社 KBR 社との提携により、中国の盛虹煉化社（連雲港）に対し、酢酸ビニルモノマー（以下、VAM）製造技術に関するライセンスを供与することを決定いたしました。併せて、盛虹煉化社が新設するVAM生産設備に使用される触媒を供給いたします。

当社は、大分コンビナートにて、エチレンを原料とするVAM の製造において40 年の実績があり、触媒の開発も含め高い技術力を有しております。KBR 社とは2015 年に提携し、当社の有機化学品製造技術についてのライセンスビジネスの可能性を検討してまいりましたが、このたび、盛虹煉化社に当社VAM 製造技術が採用されることとなりました。なお、盛虹煉化社に建設される設備のVAM 生産能力は年間30 万トンとなる見込みです。

当社グループは、個性派企業（収益性と安定性を高レベルで維持できる個性派事業の連合体）の実現をVision（目指す姿）とし、2025 年には当社事業の半数以上を個性派事業とすることを目指しております。VAM 等有機化学品を含む石油化学事業においても、市況に左右されず安定して高い収益を生み出すための事業体質づくりを進めてまいりました。今後も、誘導品の拡充などを通じたコンビナートの競争力強化に加え、ライセンスビジネスの拡大に取り組み、東アジア地域で最高レベルの競争力を持つ石油化学事業とすることを目指してまいります。
