昭和電工、不飽和ポリエステル樹脂およびビニルエステル樹脂事業の生産体制最適化を決定

東京, 2020年01月20日 - (JCN Newswire) - 昭和電工株式会社（社長：森川宏平）は、不飽和ポリエステル樹脂（以下、UP）およびビニルエステル樹脂（以下、VE）事業の収益性向上を図るため、UP・VEの国内生産について2021年6月末を目途に伊勢崎事業所の生産ラインの一部を停止し、龍野事業所に集約することを決定しました。

当社の機能性高分子事業は、国内に2拠点、海外に中国2拠点、タイ1拠点に生産ラインを持ち、UPは主に住宅・建設資材用途や自動車関連用成形材料、VEは主に耐食・耐薬品用途、電子材料用途を中心に展開しています。UP・VE市場は、海外では中国・ASEANを中心として住宅建築やインフラ投資、自動車産業の成長を背景に需要が拡大していますが、国内は主用途の住宅資材向けが新規住宅着工件数の減少等により市場規模が縮小しています。

そのため当社は、国内におけるUP・VEの生産を龍野事業所に集約して生産体制を最適化するとともに、付加価値が高く需要が拡大しているインフラ分野等に注力し、海外は中国・ASEANを含め高収益が期待できるセグメントを対象とすることで収益性向上を図ることといたしました。なお、伊勢崎事業所は引き続き電子材料向け高機能性樹脂の開発・製造に注力してまいります。

当社グループは、個性派企業（収益と安定性を高レベルで維持できる個性派事業の連合体）の実現をVision（目指す姿）とし、2025年に当社事業の半数以上を個性派事業とすることを目指しています。機能性高分子事業においても、最適な市場領域を選択して収益性を向上させ、個性派事業へと進化を図ります。
