量研と三菱重工、核融合実験炉イーターのトロイダル磁場コイル初号機完成披露式典を開催

世界最大級の超伝導コイルの完成により、核融合炉建設が大きく前進

東京, 2020年01月30日 - (JCN Newswire) - 国立研究開発法人量子科学技術研究開発機構（理事長　平野俊夫。以下「量研」という。）核融合エネルギー部門及び三菱重工業株式会社（取締役社長　泉澤清次。以下「三菱重工」という。）は、核融合実験炉イーター（以下「ITER」という。）のための世界最大規模の超伝導コイルであるトロイダル磁場コイル（以下「TFコイル」という。）を完成させました。

世界初のITER用TFコイルの完成を記念し、三菱重工の二見工場においてITER機構のベルナール・ビゴ（Bernard Bigot）機構長や文部科学省の青山周平大臣政務官、国会議員、関係経済団体の関係者、学識経験者の方々によるご列席、量研の平野俊夫理事長ら、三菱重工の泉澤清次社長、加藤顕彦執行役員原子力事業部長らの出席による「完成披露式典」が開催されました。

このTFコイルは建設中のITERにおける中枢機器の記念すべき第一号であり、この完成によって現地での核融合炉建設が大きく前進します。本TFコイルは、神戸港から南フランスに向けて積み出され、2025年のITERの運転開始に向け、同工場から順次5基のTFコイルを出荷する計画です。今回のTFコイル初号機の完成を弾みとして、世界の持続的発展のために非常に重要な技術開発に取り組むITER計画を、日本の産学官を挙げて、一層主導的に推進していきます。
