昭和電工、黒鉛電極事業欧州生産拠点見直しについての労使協議開始

東京, 2020年02月05日 - (JCN Newswire) - 昭和電工株式会社（社長：森川宏平）は、当社の連結子会社であるSHOWA DENKO CARBON Products Germany GmbH & Co. KG および SHOWA DENKO CARBON Germany GmbHのドイツ・マイティンゲンにある生産拠点の閉鎖について、労使協議を開始しました。

同拠点は現在、黒鉛電極の継手（注）を生産しておりますが、閉鎖後の当社グループの継手の生産は、大町事業所に集約されます。当社の黒鉛電極事業は、高品質UHP市場においてグローバルトップのシェアを有する事業ですが、昨年下半期より、顧客である電炉鋼メーカーにおける黒鉛電極の在庫調整が継続し、特に景気減速が目立つ欧州市場においては稼働率の低下が生じております。マイティンゲンの生産を停止した場合、当社の黒鉛電極のグローバルでの生産能力は、4万t減の21万t/年となります。

なお、上記に加えて、同連結子会社のオーストリア・スティーグの生産拠点においては、既に期間を限定した一時帰休に向けての労使協議も開始しており、本件と併せ欧州での稼働調整を図ってまいります。
