ソニーが、中国のエンタテインメント企業Bilibili Inc.へ出資

東京, 2020年04月10日 - (JCN Newswire) - ソニー株式会社（以下、ソニー）は、本日、ソニーの完全子会社であるSony Corporation of Americaが、中国の若者世代に支持されるオンラインエンタテインメントプラットフォームの代表的企業であるBilibili Inc.（以下、Bilibili）（NASDAQ上場：BILI）の発行済株式総数の4.98％の株式（以下、本株式）をZ種普通株式の新株引受により取得するための確定契約を締結したことを、お知らせします。本株式の取得の対価は約4億米ドル（約 436 億円※）です。

Bilibiliは、中国オンライン・エンタテインメント市場の消費を牽引するZ世代（1990〜2009年生まれの世代）を中心に強く支持されるプラットフォーム企業であり、モバイルゲームやライブストリーミング、プロフェッショナルユーザーが作成したビデオやアニメなどの動画配信を主力事業として成長しています。

ソニーは、中国をエンタテインメントの分野における戦略的重要拠点の一つと位置付けており、今回の投資もその一環です。なお、本株式の取得に関連してソニー及びBilibiliは協業の実施に関する契約を締結し、今後、アニメーションやモバイルゲーム等を含む中国でのエンタテインメント分野における協業の可能性を追求することでも合意しています。

本株式の取得が当社の2020年度連結業績に与える影響は軽微です。
