デンソー、ピッツバーグにオープンイノベーション拠点を開設

自動運転分野での研究開発を加速

愛知, 2020年08月05日 - (JCN Newswire) - 株式会社デンソー(本社:愛知県刈谷市、社長:有馬浩二)は、先端R&Dを行う新たな拠点として、米国に「ピッツバーグ・イノベーション・ラボ」を2020年7月に開設しました。本拠点において、オープンイノベーションを強化し、自動運転分野の研究開発を加速させます。

デンソーは、全ての人に安心・安全な移動手段を提供するために、自動運転の開発に取り組んでいます。今回、新しく開設したピッツバーグ・イノベーション・ラボでは、自動運転レベル4の実現に向けた研究開発や、AIなどの先端要素技術の開発を行います。IT産業の中心地として成長しているピッツバーグにおいて、現地の大学や企業と連携し、開発を進めていきます。

これまでもデンソーは、米国、イスラエル、カナダ、フィンランドの4か国に5つのイノベーションラボを設置し、大学、研究機関、スタートアップ企業とのオープンイノベーション活動を進めてきました。今後も、世界のイノベーション震源地にR&D機能を配置することで、地域特性を生かした研究開発を加速させ、次世代のモビリティ社会の実現に貢献します。
