富士通、理研様のデータ科学基盤「HOKUSAI-SailingShip」が本格稼働開始

多様な研究データの利活用を促進し、研究活動を強力に支援する基盤を当社が構築

東京, 2020年10月19日 - (JCN Newswire) - 当社は、国立研究開発法人理化学研究所（所在地：埼玉県和光市、理事長：松本紘、以下、理研）様とともにデータ科学基盤「HOKUSAI-SailingShip」を新たに構築しました。本システムは理研様の研究活動において生成される膨大かつ高品質な研究データの処理や利活用を促進する目的で調達・導入され、2020年6月からの試験運用を経て、10月19日より本運用が開始されます。

「HOKUSAI-SailingShip」は、OpenStack（注1）ベースの仮想化基盤「Mirantis Cloud Platform（注2）」を搭載した当社PCサーバ「FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY（プライマジー） CX2550 M5」440台と、データアクセスのための様々なプロトコルに互換性をもつ30ペタバイトのストレージシステムを採用することで、パブリッククラウドとの連携による多様なアプリケーションやデータ資産の利活用を促進し、オープンサイエンスの推進や研究成果の普及が期待されています。
