NEC、「大規模遺留指紋照合システム」と「デジタル信号処理プロセッサ」がIEEEマイルストーンに認定

東京, 2020年12月15日 - (JCN Newswire) - NECが開発した大規模遺留指紋照合システムとデジタル信号処理プロセッサ(DSP) uPD7720が、Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE、注1)が主催するIEEEマイルストーン(注2)に認定されました。

1982年に開発された大規模遺留指紋照合システムは、犯罪現場に残された遺留指紋から容疑者を迅速に捜索し、公衆安全に貢献したことが高く評価されました。uPD7720は、世界初の商用のプログラマブルなDSPで、音声などのデジタル信号を効率良く処理し、通信のデジタル化に大きく貢献しました。

IEEEからNECに対し、マイルストーンに認定された業績を記した銘板を贈呈するため、12月15日(火)に、NEC本社ビル(東京都港区)にて贈呈式を開催します。
