Honda、社長人事について

東京, 2021年02月19日 - (JCN Newswire) - Hondaは、本日の取締役会において、専務取締役の三部敏宏（みべとしひろ）を、本年4月1日付で代表取締役社長とするとともに、現代表取締役社長である八郷隆弘（はちごうたかひろ）を同日付で取締役とする人事を決定しました。なお、6月に開催予定の定時株主総会にて、三部は取締役代表執行役社長※に就任し、八郷は退任する予定です。

八郷は、2015年から約６年間の社長在任中、事業環境の大転換期にあたり、Hondaが将来に渡り存在を期待される企業であり続けるために、「2030年ビジョン」を策定。「すべての人に『生活の可能性が拡がる喜び』を提供する」というステートメントの実現に向け、「既存事業の盤石化」と「将来の成長に向けた仕込み」に取り組み、チーム・Hondaをリードしてきました。生産領域や開発領域の効率化や体質強化をはじめ、グローバルでの選択と集中を行うことで、将来への土台づくりを完成させ、新しい時代に向けてHondaが走り出す準備を整えました。

社長に就任予定の三部は、1987年にHondaに入社、その後、エンジン開発を中心に四輪車の研究・開発に従事してきました。2019年には株式会社本田技術研究所代表取締役社長に、2020年には本田技研工業株式会社の専務取締役に就任し、現在に至っています。
