富山大学とNEC、データサイエンス寄附講座を開設

地域課題の解決や産業創出に貢献するデータサイエンティストを育成

東京, 2021年03月29日 - (JCN Newswire) - 国立大学法人富山大学(本部：富山県富山市、学長：齋藤滋、以下富山大学)と日本電気株式会社(本社：東京都港区、代表取締役執行役員社長兼 CEO：新野隆、以下 NEC)は、地域の課題解決や産業創出に貢献するデータサイエンス教育・研究を目的とした連携協力協定を締結し、データサイエンス寄附講座を2021年4月から開設します。

近年、様々な産業でデータ利活用が急速に進み、産学が連携してデータサイエンティスト育成に取り組むことが求められています。こうした中、富山大学は、文部科学省「数理・データサイエンス・AI教育の全国展開(注1)」の協力校に選定され、2020年度からすべての学部学生に対して「数理・データサイエンス教育プログラム」を必修科目として提供しています。

また、NECは富山市と「ICTによる都市のスマート化に関する包括連携協定」を締結しており(注2)、データ利活用型スマートシティのさらなる高度化を目指し、社会課題の解決につながるICT関連施策を推進しています。

今回の連携協力協定および寄附講座の開設は、これらの一環であり、今後両者の豊富な知見や実績を活かし、以下の取り組みを推進します。
