NEC、工場内の無線化実現に向け5Gを活用した実証実験を三菱重工工作機械において実施
東京, 2021年04月22日 - (JCN Newswire) - NEC は、三菱重工工作機械株式会社(注1)、株式会社NTTドコモ(注2)、サンリツオートメイション株式会社(注3)、株式会社構造計画研究所(注4)とともに三菱重工工作機械 栗東工場において5Gを活用した工場内の無線化に向けた実証実験を2021年1～2月の1か月間、実施しました。
昨今の工場では、労働者や熟練工不足、顧客ニーズの多様化による変種変量生産への対応などの課題があります。このため、省力化や無人化、現場作業員の作業効率の向上や多能工化、製造ラインの自由度の向上などを図り、さらには生産設備や無人搬送車(Automated Guided Vehicle、注5、以下AGV)システムの制御、高精細画像による作業支援の実現に向けて、高速・大容量で、安定した無線通信が不可欠となります。
工場は、金属の製造設備、大型クレーンやフォークリフトなどの可動設備があり、電波の遮蔽や受信強度に変化が生じるため、無線通信には困難な環境です。本実証実験では、制御や映像伝送等の具体的なアプリケーションを想定し、5Gによる無線通信の評価を行いました。その結果、5Gの有効性確認と、工場の無線化に必要な知見が得られました。
なお、本実証実験は総務省事業である令和2年度「地域課題解決型ローカル5G等の実現に向けた開発実証」(注6)の委託を受けて実施したものです。
