今年で15周年を迎えた「Hondaビーチクリーン活動」

Hondaの独自技術を搭載した機材を使い、素足で歩ける砂浜を次世代へ

東京, 2021年06月16日 - (JCN Newswire) - Hondaは“素足で歩ける砂浜を次世代に残したい”という想いから、砂浜の清掃活動「Hondaビーチクリーン活動」を2006年から進めてきました。漂着ゴミで溢れる砂浜を「技術の力でなんとかしてきれいにできないか」という想いで独自に開発した「Hondaビーチクリーナー」を使ったこの砂浜の清掃活動は、今年で15周年を迎えました。

当初、Honda従業員やOBなどわずか15人の「ビーチクリーンキャラバン隊」で始めたこの清掃活動ですが、現在では全国のHonda販売店などのHondaグループや地域の皆様へ協力の輪が広がり、年間参加者7,000人を超える活動へと発展しています。これまでに全国200カ所以上の砂浜で活動を行い、実施回数は約400回、回収したゴミは総量490トンにのぼります。

Hondaビーチクリーン活動が15周年の節目を迎えるにあたり、車いすの使用者にも参加いただける「Hondaビーチクリーン・ユニバーサルプロジェクト」を、この秋に大分県で実施する予定です。この新たな試みを通じ、砂浜を移動する喜び、海辺の楽しさを車いすで体感していただくことで、ビーチクリーン活動から生まれるさらなる喜びの拡大を目指します。
