NEC、グローバル市場向け5G基地局の無線機を発売
Open RAN市場のトップポジション獲得に向けて製品ラインアップを強化
東京, 2021年06月23日 - (JCN Newswire) - NECは、グローバル市場を見据えた5G基地局装置の無線機(Radio Unit、 RU)を製品化し、2021年度下期に出荷を開始します。
新製品は機能面においては、グローバルで5Gの周波数帯に使用されている、3.7GHz周波数帯(3.3～4.2GHz)に対応しています。また、Massive MIMO(マッシブマイモ、注1)技術を活用した超多素子アンテナと、高精度なビームを形成するデジタルビームフォーミング技術を組み合わせることで、より多くの端末との高速・大容量通信を高効率に実現します。さらに、従来機種と比較して高出力化と広帯域化を行い、通信エリアの拡大と高速伝送を実現しました。また、NEC独自の高密度実装技術、省電力技術、およびファンレス化により、小型軽量化、低消費電力を実現しています。
また仕様面においては、O-RAN Allianceが定めるO-RANフロントホールインタフェース仕様(注2)に準拠しており、異なるベンダの基地局装置とも接続が可能ため、多様なユースケースや回線構築ニーズに応じた柔軟で最適なネットワークを実現します。
NECは従来から、グローバル市場において5G基地局装置を展開しており、複数の通信事業者との実証実験に加えて商用向けの採用実績も有しています。今回の製品ラインアップ強化をはじめ、今後もグローバル5G事業を推進し、Open RAN市場でのトップポジションを目指します。
