バルセロナスーパーコンピューティングセンターと富士通、個別化医療および量子分野で共同研究契約を締結

東京, 2023年04月19日 - (JCN Newswire) - スペインにおいてスーパーコンピュータを活用した最先端技術の開発を行うスペインの研究開発機関であるBarcelona Supercomputing Center（注1）（Centro Nacional de Supercomputación、以下、バルセロナスーパーコンピューティングセンター）と富士通株式会社（注2）（以下、富士通）は、個別化医療および量子分野の2領域における共同研究契約を2023年4月19日に締結し、2023年5月より共同研究を開始します。

個別化医療では、バルセロナスーパーコンピューティングセンターのライフサイエンス分野における世界最先端の技術と、富士通のゲノム情報を解析可能なAIや因果発見技術、HPCにおける計算処理の高速化技術などの強みを組み合わせ、ゲノム内の分子情報やX線画像などの様々なデータをもとに病気を高精度に解析するマルチモーダルAIを開発し、病気検出率の向上や、医師が病気を診断する際の負担軽減などの成果の創出を目指します。

また、量子分野においては、より大規模な量子回路計算の実現を目指し、量子回路の縮約により計算量を削減できるバルセロナスーパーコンピューティングセンターのTensor Network（注3）技術を両者の量子コンピュータシミュレータ（以下、量子シミュレータ）システム上に実装するための共同研究、および量子シミュレータを用いて、材料や金融などの分野における実問題を解決するための量子アプリケーションの開発を行っていきます。
